Grief Share

griefshare-logo-smallGriefShare is a national faith-based organization that forms grief support groups for those who have lost loved ones to death to help them in the healing process. It is a Christ-centered and biblically-based program designed to offer people comfort and support as they go through their journeys of grief. The theme verse for GriefShare is from Jeremiah 31:13, “I will turn their mourning to joy; I will comfort them and give them gladness for sorrow.”

Each of the 13 sessions of GriefShare uses three forms of communication to help you move from mourning to joy. First is a video presentation in which others talk to you, including experts in the field of grief recovery and those going through grief. Second is a group discussion where participants talk to and support each other. Third, there are daily workbook exercises in which God talks to you and you talk to God.

If you have lost a loved one, we hope you will consider exploring the hope and healing that GriefShare has offered to so many others. If you know of someone in a grief situation, please tell them about this special program. Contact Jenny Van Hoy (314.427.3444 x113) for program dates or for more information.

Sunday School

Sunday School exists for the purpose of helping parents fulfill their God given responsibility of teaching their children about God’s great message of salvation for them in Jesus Christ.

During Sunday School, the children are taught about Jesus Christ, their Savior, Lord, and Friend, and His loving care for them, beginning with creation. Our classes provide children with the opportunity to hear Bible Stories, sing songs, make new friends, and hear of God’s love for them in Jesus Christ, in an age appropriate setting.

Sunday School classes meet year round between the Divine Services at 9:30 a.m.--except on Single Service Sundays (the last Sunday in January, April, June, August and October) when Sunday School and Bible Classes are at 8:15 a.m. Sunday School is held in the church basement and classes are open to all children ages three to grade six.

If you have any questions at any time about our Sunday School program please do not hesitate to call the church office 314.427.3444.

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Matthew 19:14

Room at the Inn

As people of God, we welcome guests from Room at the Inn on the 2nd Wednesday of each month.  A dedicated group of volunteers are committed to providing shelter, food and fellowship for these guests.

Room at the Inn is a community based program providing emergency shelter for women and families.  It is sponsored by the Sister of Divine Providence.  Families spend the night at a different church each night.  There are over 40 churches assisting just as we do.

Volunteers transport families to Our Redeemer on Wednesday evening and back to the Inn on Thursday morning.  We provide a meal on Wednesday evening and breakfast on Thursday morning.  Volunteers spend the night on Wednesday as Innkeepers, others set up bedding, others visit and play with children, and others clean up after guests leave and launder bedding.

Because work is divided between many volunteers, it provides an opportunity for many members to get involved.  Anyone interested in helping regularly or occasionally can contact Nancy Merila (nmerila@charter.net) or the church office.
