Mr. Steve Kohlmeier is an alumnus of St. Paul's College in Concordia, MO and of Concordia Senior College in Fort Wayne, IN. In both colleges, he majored in music.
He has been a practicing musician all his life. Beginning piano lessons at age 5, he began playing organ in worship services at age 12, continuing to play through high school, college, and thereafter wherever he could find a gig.
After college, he became the organist & choir director at Trinity Lutheran Church in Bridgeton MO, where he remained for 22 years while also working full-time at the International Center of The Lutheran Church— Missouri Synod. After that, he played for services at Chapel of the Cross in North County before becoming a full-time Minister of Music at King of Kings Lutheran Church in Chesterfield. He was there full-time for 10 years.
Since November of 2010, he has been Music Director here at Our Redeemer, responsible not only for the music teaching and music groups at the school, but also for all worship activities for the congregation.
His love is playing the organ, which he could easily do non-stop. Mr. Kohlmeier is married to Paulette, and they have 3 children and 3 grandsons.
